on the occasion of the most wanted: music (mw:m) convention berlin nineties berlin will present the immersive audio and video installation "hemispheres" by the internationally known artists lukas taido and lars ullrich on november 6 and 7, 2019. on the 30th anniversary of the fall of the wall, november 9, 2019, the musician and actor matthias stegemeyer will be reviving a unique historical document – the video art installation "360m berlin wall – a walk along the wall", which had documented the events taking place on the berlin wall for several years.
When sounds between digital musique concrète and contemporary electronica meet abstract, multi-layered images, visitors experience the rhythmic, tonal, color, and structural interactions of these two hemispheres – an interaction that triggers different thoughts, stimulating fantasy and simultaneously moments of total concentration. using 30 loudspeakers controlled by a 3d audio system, the artists lukas taido (concept and music) and lars ullrich (visual art) create the close connection of extremely spatial auditory and visual impressions around the 286 sqm panoramic screen the exhibition nineties berlin in their installation "hemispheres".
as part of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the wall on november 9, 2019, the musician and actor matthias stegemeyer presents a unique historical document – a video art installation that captured life with the berlin wall. since 1981, video artist horst martens had been working on a wall diary that should develop into an in-depth documentary about the events at the berlin wall. With his recordings from a West Berlin perspective, he recorded the everyday life with the wall that shaped the lives of the people in the divided city. When Martens met Stegemeyer in 1982, they eventually began working on this particular contemporary document. now at 4 and 6pm, stegemeyer will bring it back to life with a live performance "360m berlin wall – a walk along the wall".
